Over $70K in Business Grants Awarded

On Wednesday, the Cape Coral City Council, in its capacity as the Community Redevelopment Agency Board, awarded $70,817 to 3 local businesses from its Breaking Barriers to Business Grant Program.

The CRA B2B program is designed to remove barriers to business development and promote growth in South Cape Coral. The CRA is about 3 square miles of land in South Cape that is its own taxing district specifically for redevelopment and to clean up blight.  CRA districts encourage public and private investments to encourage economic growth and improve the quality of life in the redevelopment area. The CRA budget is about $6 million. The grants come from the CRA budget.

CRA. Businesses and developers that have submitted applications for permits to build, expand, or renovate facilities located in the CRA can receive grant assistance to pay for costs incurred to meet the City’s Land Development Code requirements.

The CRA Board of Commissioners is the Cape Coral City Council, which directs CRA policy and programs. Cape Coral City Manager Michael Ilczyszyn serves as the Executive Director of the CRA.
