And how much are you willing to pay for those services? In the first FY 2027 Cape Coral Budget Workshop Thursday, staff told the city council that to maintain the current level of services in 2027 another $13.4 million needs to be added to the 2027 budget.

Living in a Safe Community Isn’t Cheap
You don’t need to be a brain surgeon to know that Cape Coral is growing. And as the city grows, so too does the need for a police department large enough to keep all residents safe. As of today, Cape Coral is short 57 patrol officers, according to Police Chief Anthony Sizemore.
No Redfish Pointe in February
The much anticpaited discussion on the Redfish Pointe project will have to wait at least one more month. The Cape Coral Planning & Zoning Commission does not have the project as an agenda item in February. It's looking like P&Z will kick off the discussion on Redfish in March.

The City of Cape Coral Parks and Recreation Department has closed the playground at Pelican Soccer Complex on Southwest 2nd Court for a full replacement project now underway. The playground will be closed for three months.
