On Tuesday, the Lee Board of County Commissioners voted to continue the resurfacing project on Veterans Parkway from Santa Barbara to Country Club boulevards. The stretch of Veterans Parkway recorded 54,200 annual average daily trips by motorists in 2024.
The $1 million contract includes milling, resurfacing, re-striping and signal loop installation. The work is expected to begin later this month and continue for several weeks. Work will be done at night and completed each day by 5 a.m. to minimize the impact on motorists.
Once the work is complete, Veterans Parkway will have been resurfaced from the Midpoint Bridge to Skyline Boulevard during the past few years. Resurfacing the corridor west from Skyline to Chiquita is not yet scheduled.
