SWFL Charities presents the 8th Annual Chili Cook-Off Music and Craft Market this Sunday from 1PM to 4PM in Club Square. Proceeds from this event will benefit The Foster Village SWFL in Cape Coral and Harney Point VFW Post 8463. These funds will allow them to provide services in Southwest Florida and help them to continue their missions.
The Harney Point VFW Post 8463 will celebrate 60 years of service to the Veterans, their families and the community of Cape Coral on March 26th, 2026. Their contribution to our community includes the books for our first ever high school library, the creation of Four Freedoms Park and countless volunteer hours during time of crisis to our citizens throughout Southwest Florida. They participate yearly in several charity events that provide for children, families and those in need. They offer needed friendship to our senior communities, scholarships to our children and needed assistance to our Veterans.
Foster Village SWFL opened its new Cape Coral HUB on Oct. 18, 2025, the organization’s first in Lee County. In the last 12 months, the tangible support Foster Village SWFL provided families impacted more than 600 children. Foster Village SWFL makes sure foster families and children have their basic needs met, connects foster families to resources and each other. Tangible items they need are provide immediately when a child is placed with a family. They provide holistic support beyond the child welfare system to prevent isolation and burnout of foster families.
The motto of the SWFL Charities Foundation, Inc. is “Helping with Heart”. The specific purpose of our non-profit organization is to raise funds through active fundraising events, contributions from the general public, other public charities and foundations. These funds are in turn donated to local Veterans, Underprivileged Families, Children, Seniors and Individuals in need.
