Lee County has approved the purchase of a 13,175 square foot piece of property at 2304 Burnt Store Road for $125,000. The property owner, who purchased the property 5 years ago for $56,500, was asking $139,000.
The property will be used for the future expansion of Burnt Store Road. The property is located just south of Kismet Parkway West and on the west side of Burnt Store Road North in Cape Coral.
Lee County owns Burnt Store Road. One section has yet to be widened due to the lack of funding and it has been home to many accidents recently. The widening of Burnt Store Road North is a Tier One priority transportation project for Lee County.
Lee County staff said, “Acquiring the tract prior to development will provide a significant cost savings to the County.
The property was recently appraised at $123,000.
